Dance/Movement Therapy (DMT)
Dance/Movement Therapy is a form of somatic (bodily) therapy.
It leverages the principle of mind-body unity (the mind is reflected in the body and the body in turn influences the mind) to stimulate emotional healing, and to enhance physical, cognitive, personal and social wellbeing.
The DMT therapist interprets a client’s movement language, and guides them to develop desired states such as confidence, trust or positive mood.
These techniques can be used to enhance almost any aspect of human health and wellbeing, as well as to develop and integrate more complex behaviour sets such as relationship and leadership skills.
